MF Remote Hydraulic Valve

I am considering selling a MF remote hydraulic valve that I removed from my MF-35 so that I do not have to step over it every time I get onto the tractor.

I know that this fits many models right up to current models but do not have a good idea of its worth.

Anyone out there bought or sold one lately or have a good estimate of value?

I would like to avoid ebay if possible and would like to sell it here on YT.

Thanks in advance.

Dean

I have an old massey 50 with no remote . Is this what I may be looking for so I can run at least a single action cylinder ?

Hi, Kelvin.

Probably. I am not a MF expert but I do know that the remote valves used on the early MF tractors like I have (MF-35) will fit some current models.

The valve that I have is a dual spool that allows operation of a remove cylinder or the lift or both depending upon the position of the second lever.

I have not yet decided to sell it because I still have a MF-35.

I am just trying to find out what it is worth because I am considering selling my 35 and do not know whether to sell both together or not.

Hi Dean

It may worth $200. to $400.00 if no leaks and in good condition... for a person who is in need of it. It is useful to operate single action cylinder(s)
for a loader or other equipment. For double action operation a separate double action valve is required in addition to this one.

It certainly add value to your MF-35 if the buyer need it....otherwise no....

Thanks, Joe.

I haven't yet decided what (if anything) to sell. I have been looking at a new MF-531 tractor.

It's rather remarkable that this new tractor is basically a modernized version of the 1955 TO-35.

If I decide to buy one I will probably keep the valve in case I need it in the future.

If it is the two spool valve which is bolted (two scews) near the seat on the hydraulic top cover...I did not see the new models and not sure that the valve may be fitted on new models.

If you remove the valve on your MF-35 you will need the original cover plate in place of the valve to cap the oil supply pipe.

There were many manufacturers and configurations for those diverter valves. I have 3 different types here..one with one pressure port and one return port on my MF-50 for the small backhoe...one with 3 selectable pressure ports no return port on my MF-135 one port is used to operate the top link cylinder which I have installed in place of the usual top link. The third (not used..spare) is a two spool same as you described.

Good luck with your projects

Thanks again, Joe.

I have already removed the valve and installed the cover plate that came with the tractor. I was not using it and it was positioned such that I had to step over the two levers each time I got on or off.

The new MF-533 that I looked at had the same cover plate held on with two bolts so I figure I could use the same valve on it. The 533 is this years version of last years 431 which was an upgraded 231. The lineage seems to go all the way back to the TO-35.

I'm still trying to figure out just what to do.

If I decide to sell the valve separately, I will probably post it here in the YT classifieds.

Thanks, again.

Dean
