I went out to tune up a MF 35 tractor tonight..The guy that owns the tractor asked where to check the rear end oil..Not being familiar with them , I wasn't sure..Is the transmission and rear the same oil level ?? Checked at the dipstick , filled at the shifter cover of trans?? The 3 point doesn't work.. Has anyone tried a mixture 75/25 of oil and fuel to free up stuck pump pistons..Someone told me about this a couple of years ago..I have removed pumps to free up the pistons before..[ varnished up ]...Thanks , Roy

Roy, do the guy a favor and tell him to get a MF Operator Manual at this MF dealer. It is shocking to see people own tractors and have not even the basic knowledge to keep from tearing them up from neglect. Tom

Roy:

The transmission, hydraulic system and differential have a single sump on the MF-35. It uses mild EP 90W GL-1 (MF-1103), not GL-5. The dipstick is on the right near the footboard.

If the hydraulis system does not work at all I doubt that "stuck pump pistons" is the problem. Rather, I suspect internal problems. Usually this is rather easy to diagnose by removing the right side inspection cover and having a look inside with the engine running. The clutch must be engaged for the pump to run on the 35.
