Hi

When they have a little worn these models have tendency to lockup especially in reverse and 2nd
to avoid lockup try to shift the lever with down pressure whith your hand...we have tendency to pull up the stick upward when shifting in rev and 2nd.

Unless the shift mechanism is badly worn little care
when shifting may solve your problem.

I have a 135 which has this problem but it not locked for many years now it is just a little habit to not pull up the stick when shifting.

Forgot to mention

Generaly it is not necessary to remove the cover it may be unlocked with a looong screwdriver trough the transmission oil filling hole

Big Dean has a unlock procedure on his website
unfortunately I do'nt have the website address handy.
