Hi,
I have a Massey Ferguson 165 in great running condition. The position lever is real hard to move up & down, the draft control lever works just find, any ideas why it is hard to move.
Thanks to all that reply.

Hi,
Have you checked the screw and washers that slide in the slot in the quadrant plates, The washers are there to adjust the amount of pressure needed to to hold the lever in the set position.
If these are OK and lubricated then the problem is likely to be in the housing that connects the quadrant to the hydraulic cover. In the centre of this housing you will see a tube. This is the POSITION lever tube. If you spray some penetrating oil or similar at each end and work the lever it may free up. Otherwise the only solution is to remove the hydraulic cover and remove the quadrant assy and strip it.
