My MF35 (4 cylinder gas Continental) seems to have lost power, particularly under load. If I stop, or stall, and let it sit for a while, it comes back to life, but only for a minute or two, then, no power again.

I replaced the condenser and everything was fine for about an hour, now the same thing. Is something cooking the condenser?

It can't hurt to be sure the electrical system is working right and that the condenser, points, etc are right. But it sure sounds like there's some crud sitting on top of the sediment bowl inlet.

I had that happen a couple times on our gas MH50. Finally took the little strainer thing out of the sediment bowl inlet and stuck an in-line fuel filter in downstream of the bowl in the gas line.

I still had enough crud to have completely blocked off the bowl inlet one time. Solution was to take off the bowl for a sec while the rust flushed out, reinstall it and then wipe off the gas from my arm.

Those condensers being sold these days are not the greatest. They are manufactured somewhere overseas where the labor and materials is bad or worse. It's possible you just got another bad condenser. I know my 35 eats them so fast I always keep a couple spares. Also, you should check the wiring under the steering wheel console. If an ignition wire or some other is worn, the grounded wire can cause the tractor to act sluggish and eventually quit.

sounds like a fuel restriction, take the line off at the carb and see that you have goog flow. the shutoff valve is fully open, right? good luck.

Been there - done that - change the coil - Once they warm up, they'll open internally. Let them sit and they'll work fine again, until they get warm. Sometimes they'll run fine all winter, but, they act up in the summer heat. Others will work for all short duration work, but, hook up the plows or the disc for the day and you'll fix it by noon . . . hopefully.

The fuel and other things mentioned could also be the problem, but for me, it was the coil, more than once.
