Hi, 1st time poster here although I'm a regular on the N board. I've looked at a MF 135 with a MF 32 (I think) loader. Gas tractor, good tin, everything seems to work ok, although the loader cylinders leak a little. Owner's asking 6500. Is this a fair price? Thanks for your opinions.

Steve

In my opinion, $6,500 would be high if it were restored like BRAND NEW. Have you checked Ebay to see what MF-135's sell for? It seems to me it is much less than that. If it were a nice, low hour tractor, and I needed it, I would pay up to $4,500. To me the loader would reduce it's value because I would have to spend the time to take it off. That is my 2 cents worth!

Does the loader have a front pump? The 32 loader was used on the MF20 which is an industrial 135. If the tractor was a diesel the price isn't bad. If it's in really good shape $6500 is a fair price for a gas. How many hours are on it? I saw a 75 diesel with loader and low hours listed last year for $9500 canadian. Cylinder seals shouldn't be too hard to fix. Dave

Is a front pump a good thing or bad? Thanks

A front pump would be very desirable as not only is it much faster, it is totally independent from the rear hydraulics so you can use the 3 pt. at the same time as the loader. Having a front pump would increase the value. Are you sure it's a 135 and not a 20? It could also have an internal aux. pump. which would be indepedent. If there is a selector valve beside your right knee, it probably uses the 3 pt. pump. Dave

Gas, is it a PErkins gasser or Continental? (Makes little difference in price) What tranny? (6, 6 w/multipower, 8 speed?) Power steering? Condition of rubber?

An average 135 without a loader is worth around $4800 these days. Extremely good condition might bring $5500. Loader adds $750 to $2000 depending on type and quality of loader.

Not exactly a giant bargain, but a fair price based on what I've seen.

Steve:

The Perkins gasser is a converted diesel 3 cylinder. The Continental is a 4 cylinder.

I passed up a 135 gas last year for $3500. probably should have bought it, but didnt need it. $6500. is a little high, if you have time you can do better. IMHO.
