hey dave!...i see you made it to the MASSEY ferguson forum. lots of good guys on here too. you still haven't quite made it to the HARRY ferguson forum (one step down from here) your TE-20 is a "ferguson" tractor, not a "massey" ferguson. the ferguson forum is dedicated to the TO, TE and TEA, fergusons, like yours.

if you want to, email me... mikeamalong-at-centurytel-dot-net. (remove all the dashes and use @ and .) i think i might be able to help you out.

-mike

Dave I have run into that problem a few time's. Don't make the same mistake I made. Make sure the valves are loose before you turn over the engine or you will end up with bent push rods, broken springs or worse.Good luck

previous owner of my MF135 got the tractor when he bot the farmland, engine was rusted up tight, they towed it until engine broke loose and mowed with it until oil smoke got too bad

local mechanic tore it down and showed him the broken piston lands and rings, he rebuilt the engine and did a real good job, then the guys wife left him and he wanted to sell the tractor, I basically got it for cost of the rebuild, good running machine

so take your time, search the archives here and on main tractor page for how others have done it, filling cylinders with trans fluid and letting her sit a long time that way is how I would do it
