I'm putting a dual clutch in a 165. Old clutch had some oil on it that appeared to come from the transmission input shaft seal. I haven't taken any of that apart. Does anybody have a parts book that shows number for the seals, I'm assuming there is a seal on the outer shaft and the inner also. Does MF have a online parts site? I generally have anoter shade of red so I'm not real familiar with MF.
Thanks Ronald

My 165 (1968) has a hydraulic pto and doesn't need the two stage clutch. This fact saved me $ when I had to have the clutch replaced. My mechanic said the parts person at one MF dealer insisted he needed the two stage clutch so he finally just went to another dealer for the single stage. It was about half the price.

wish this one was that way. I don't know why they didn't do that with all of them.

I had a 165 with IPTO. It was trouble! I much prefer the 2 stage clutch. The M-P valve surrounds the transmission input shaft. There are small cast iron sealing rings, similar to piston rings, on the shaft to hold the oil pressure for high M-P. The shaft ran in a bushing on earlier tractors. That was replaced by a bearing on later ones. You may have to replace sevral parts. It gets pricey. You will defininitely need a repair manual.

Does this tractor have Multi-Power? That makes a difference in the seal arrangement.
