I have a 1100 Massey that I don't really use much(Usually Runs about 10 minutes at a time). For about the last 10 times I have used it it will run for a little while then quit(air in the system). After I bleed the system its fine again.

I have changed the filters, cleaned the fuel bowl and screen, replaced the line from the tank to the lift pump, and added more fuel to the tank. It still keeps doing this.
The last time I started it, it quit about 5 minutes after starting. When I went to bleed it, no fuel would come out. I thought the lift pump was bad, so I put a hand pump on the fuel line from the tank and it will not suck fuel from the tank. I am going to try and blow air back into the tank tomorrow. But I am wondering whats inside the tank??? The fuel line screws into a fitting that is welded to the top of the tank. Is it possible whatever line runs to the bottom of the tank has broke, cracked or rusted off?? How could this be fixed??

I think I have it figured out... I think the fuel lift pump is bad. I blew air (100 psi) through the fuel line back into the tank, hooked the line up and no fuel would go into the fuel bowl. I also put a new rubber gasket on the fuel bowl to make sure it wasn't getting air there. Next I took a 5 gallon can of fuel, set it on the ground and stuck the other end of the line(now a rubber hose) in it and tried to prime the pump. It wouldn't suck fuel from the can until I put the can on the floor board... This tells me thers nothing wrong with the fuel line, and that its all in the pump that can't pull the fuel from the tank. Am I right????

My 1100 has a screen on the right tank drain plug that surrounds the fuel pick up tube. Remove the plug and blow out the screen and you should be OK. May be a good idea to drain a gallon or so from each tank to get some of the sediment out. Good luck. 1100's are good old tractors.

1100 is a little old but the 2000 ser. had rubber bands in the fuel tanks from the days when the union was on strike. dealer i worked for back then sold a 2775 and a 2805 and both had rubber bands in the tanks and in the fuel lines. they ran fine till they got hot and the bands would swell up and stop fuel flow took a long time to find that
