My pony's engine block is the version with the unpinned thrust washers. My engine rebuilder who is very knowledgeable with old engines has suggested I pin both bronze washers instead of one . He says this is "Old School" for longevity of the engine it should be updated. I'm a little skeptical on this. I want to pin the front one ,but question the rear one as it was never pinned in the MFG of this engine .Has anyone else done the same ? Has anyone added pins for there front thrust washer? If so how did you locate the holes? Please share your thoughts on this.

Thanks
ED

hey Ed,
how old is that Pony now? yeah, it made it all the way to 2007 without being pinned. should be ok for another 50 or so years in my opinion.

My block didn't have pins for either end. So I didn't pin either end and everything seemd to be fine.
