I'm looking at a 298 MF.It's not the prettiest thing in the world since it has sat outside all of its life.But it has been serviced regularally.It starts and runs fine.Needs electrical work and the tach doesn't work.If I buy it I will get a owner's manual but I need some information about this size tractor and dollar amount it would be worth. Thank You,Pickle Dill.

Pickle Dill, The 298 was built from 1983-86 with
a Perkins 318 cu.in. Choice of 8 sp or multi-power
Shipping wt w/o options or fluid in tires-4356 lb.
Also built in a lo-profile with 18:4-30 rear tires
Search Massey-Ferguson: you will find a dealer
listing of all models for sale and you can select
298 and there should be some as a guide. There is
also a site(memory failing me)and maybe it will
come that lists prices of units sold by auction.
If this site doesn't have I can furnish a gen.MF
operators man.Sales of this model are very low-
3-5 hundred per year. Chuck
