The hydraulic system is working but there is a little pressure for quick responses. The oil seems to be OK and not leaking pressure. I would guess it may be a seal somewhere that is leaking. Any ideas. Thanks.

It sounds like the draft sensing plunger is pulling to far out causing the control valve linkage to neutralize this is very common on the MF100 and MF200 series tractors. There is a picture at the site this link is for it shows how to disconnect the top link and connect a chain from the implement to the rear housing if it will lift OK connected like the picture shows contact me and I will tell you what you need to do to stop that or look at the other picture on that same web site. If you have any question Email me

Hi, have you checked the internal filter?

Yes, I cleaned the filter.

Hello,
When you have a heavyish implement mounted and set a position with it clear of the ground is there any sign of the linkage falling, then rising and falling again?

Ah, yes. If I help manually raise my bush hog or other implement to a high position, it will gradually start to lose height. It seems if the tractor has been on for a while and pressure has been built up because of high idle it responds a little better.

Hello,
Your reply is not quite clear. You mention that it looses height but does it fall and then rise again, and fall etc?
We do not have a 150 model in the UK but believe that it fits somewhere between the 135 and 165 (logical Jim) so the systems should be familiar.
Is there play in the top link mechanism where the moving yoke is attached to the cover? With an implement fitted play here can cause the linkage to slow down and try to move to neutral
If the linkage rises and falls it would suggest that you have an internal oil leak. The most likely place for this is oil passing the rings on the lift cover piston. Alternatively it could be the poppet valves in the pump leaking.
Please let me know.

David,
Thank you for the replies. Sorry, my message was a bit vague. When I start the tractor I get very little response from the hydraulic lift. It takes a good while to create any pressure where it will lift on its own. I can manually lift the implement assisting the hydraulic lift. If I lift it all the way up it will gradually start to fall. However, if the tractor has been running for awhile and pressure has built up the fall will be very, very slow. I figure something is leaking through a seal but not sure where.

Hello,
Do you have Pressure Control on your 150?
Are you raising and lowering the implement with the lever in the Position Control quadrant? If your lever positions are correct, I would suggest as a next step;
Drain the transmission oil to the level of the bottom bolt on the RH side cover. Remove the cocer. Inside you will see the lever coming up from the pump and the operating lever coming down from above. With engine off, implement down and lift lever fully raised the pump lever should move fully towards the rear. The top lever may be in light contact with the roller on the pump lever but should exert no pressure on it.
If this is ok, start the tractor and the linkage should rise. As you approach the selected position the pump lever should move towards a central (neutral) position. The linkage should then stop moving. To lower the linkage, move the quadrant lever down. You should see the pump lever move forward and then back to the neutral position when the position is reached.
Please check on the above and come back.

150 shares engine/tranny/hydraulics with the 135.
