Just wondering about the differences between 65 masseys. I have a high row crop and want to make it the lower clearance type like a 35. ARe there more differences than the tire and rim sizes?

I also wanted to convert my MF65 row cropper to a lower height utility. The hardest part is finding a way to lower the front end without going broke. To do it right, you will have to find a set of low-rise axle extensions and spindles. Massey used three different types of axle extensions with 90, 97, and 105 degree stops, and each one uses a different steering arm on the top of the spindle (suggest getting a parts manual). In our area, these parts are really difficult to find, and the one set I did find at a salvage yard were priced way out of my range. I ended up doing a cheap conversion by putting smaller rims(salvaged from an old combine) and tires on the back (I put on 14.9X26). I found some 12 inch, 6-bolt rims at a salvage yard for the front, and put 26X12-12, 10 ply implement tires on them. This effectively lowers the tractor for a much cheaper price, but looks a little strange until you get used to it. One day I'll find a cheap lo-rise parts tractor and do the conversion properly, but the small tires haven't given me any problems. The lift arms will be a little low, but you can find shorter aftermarket links for a pretty reasonable price to raise them up higher.

Your lift arms will almost drag the ground because they are mounted in a different place and the front end has longer spindles also it will not run very fast but it will have a lot of power.
