A friend without the net has a MF50 and wants to get a used loader. What model loader should he look for? MF brand or other kind. Hydraulic bucket is necessary. Thanks

The 50's came with Davis loaders originally,
then Massey bought them out,and then called
them a Massey 200.You still see quite a few around. You don't have to worry about the
front ends breaking, the spindles are what
usually break if you have a front or rear pump. The ones that used tractor hydraulic
usually didn't have enough power to break
anything.

I think if you read back in the posts you will see several people writing in with broken axle yokes. This was the result of overstressing the front end with heavy loader work.

This is exactly why the industrial version has the heavier front end.

How can you tell if your MFH50 is an industrial?

My 50 has a Massey 200 loader I found for sale on the internet for $250.00. I had to make the front brackets and weld the bucket back together but it's been great to have.

The 200 loader is the industrial loader with 2 cylinders controling the bucket. I believe they also made a 235 loader with a one cylinder bucket.

Be carefull not to over-stress the front end on your 50 with too much weight, they are agricultural tractors and not designed for heavy loader work. Also make sure the power steering is working well. Trust me, you really don't want to try steering a loader tractor without it!

Hey thanks a bunch for the info. I know what you mean about the no power. I have a IH 300 utility which is about the same as the 50. No power. Lots of repairs to steering parts. Thanks again.
