Yes! There is quite a bit of confusion about the FE/MF issue. Do a search for FE35 in this forum's archive and you will see what I mean. I'm no real expert, but from what I have found here and elsewhere, I believe it goes something like this: The TO-35 was built from 1954 until 1960 by Ferguson in Detroit (replacing the TO-30) - from 1954 to early 1956 they were Grey & Green then Beige & Grey until late 1957, then changed to Grey & Red. FE-35 tractor was produced at the Standard Motor Company plant in Coventry, England from October 1956 until 1964 - it was Grey & Gold until 1957 when it changed to Grey & Red. The change in colour coincided with the merger between Massey-Harris and Ferguson and the tractors were badged Massey-Ferguson and referred to as MFs. The confusion seems to arise because, while the tractors were now Massey-Fergusons, those produced in England continued to carry the FE designation on the Serial Number Plate but with Massey-Ferguson badges and decals. Whether you refer to your machine as an FE-35 or an English-built MF-35 probably doesn't matter much - the "English-built" and Year are the important bits when buying spares. I have an English-built Red & Grey 1960 35 with a Perkins diesel but no Serial Number Plate, badges or decals which I am comfortable calling an MF-35. There is a photo on this web site - search for "1960 MF-35". C.T. - yours looks like a ripper too! Cheers Scott
