I recently purchased a M-H 44 that has not ran in a year. I brought it home and changed the fluids and filter. I put 30 wt. oil in the engine. When the tractor runs it has between 15-18 lbs of oil pressure. Does this sound right? The gauge does not move between an idle or wide open. When you start the tractor it immediately goes to 15-18 and does not vary. I have a couple of Farmall tractors that seem to carry more oil pressure than this. Thanks for any info.

My 44 repair manual states 10-20 lbs. You are good
to go. All Cont. built engines that I know do not
run high oil press. Massey called this engine their own engine but was still built by Continental. Chuck

Your oil pressure is fine as long as it is a gas engine. 15-20 lbs is what all of ours run. Engine speed does not make any difference either.
