Hello , I like to follow Pony parts prices on Our favorite E auction site. There is a guy who is parting out his pony( It had hydraulics) . The first listing of parts was sold today with more to come on Tuesday. I kept track of the prices and the total he recieved with his handling charge ( Not shipping thats extra). He has made $2091.68. So if your thinking of selling that pony for cheap you might want to part it out.

Just a little info

I looked at a good running Pony last week for $700. It had all the parts you listed plus good tires. Maybe it would be a good buy. It did not have the rounded drawbar. The sheet metal had surface rust but was not dented up. He said it was a 1954.

Thanks for the listing. It sure makes it tempting to part out my Ponys. Although one doesn't have hydraulics.

You can also add $6-10.00 more to the prices cause he had a handling charge listed for each item. These prices make me feel good . We are restoring a grey Pony which I have quite a bit of investment into . You cant do a decent complete proper rebuilding of a pony engine for under $1800. I know because I searched for the cheapest way possible but N62 parts are getting harder to find and expensive.

I also have an all original Gray Pony, except for paint, that I do not plan to part out. I also have a parts Pony that I think may be a Gray Pony. Its s/n is 23632.

From what I understand from collectors that are heavily into the Masseys. Not all Pony's made after 1953 with the Massey-Harris Ferguson tags were grey. Most likely you will find red under the grey paint as many early 1954's went back to be repainted grey so the Ferguson dealers would sell them.I've heard from what I believe to be good sources only abouy 300-400 ended up grey. If anyone can add or detract from this please do so. So if you repaint your restoration take lots of photos of all the tight spots showing the grey paint so you can back up your claim .Here's something of note . The original 1954 parts catalog I have shows the pony's light switch mounting hole on the top of the dash panel left side near the steering column. Also the seat in the cover picture is not the 3 hole version. Both these changes are on my tractor along with grey over red but just grey over the starter generators black. I also have a brake light switch that looks to be very original because the bracket is bent and matches the casting it mounts on perfectly . I have no record of them ever making a brakelight switch. My tractor was purchased by a small town in PA for a highway mower with a sicklebar.

I'm Not sure either but when painting my Pony I left the underside of the hood the original grey, the Pony was sold at a Ferguson dealer in Beaumont, TX, and I received two implements that were also painted grey and two implements that were painted red???
