Does anybody know anything about 285's with creeper gears?

Are the creepers a bolt on kind of thing?

What are the speeds?

Anybody have a set to sell?

I'd like to have a tractor with creepers and a 285 would be about the right size. And since I already have a 285 I'd have some backup.

Thanks,
JP.

I just took a look at the manual for the 285 and it doesn't say anything about an optional creeper gear so I question if they exist. If they do, I think it'll be more than just a bolt on kind of deal, you'd have to tear into the transmission to change them around.

I know Oliver had creeper gears and they are listed in the manuals.

Thanks for that, I was hoping that somebody would have a manual to look it up. I never heard of it before and a local fellow that spent many years working on MF's says he hasn't heard of them. However, there is one listed for sale with a 24 speed creeper transmission. I intend to go look at it but it is a long drive.

Thanks again,
JP.

Hi, I have a faint recollection that creeper gears were available as an option. First, do you have the six inch spacer between the gearbox and rear centre casing? I seem to recall that the creep gearbox fits in in place of this spacer. There is definately no alternate set of gears to fit that I am aware of.
Hope this helps
