I have an elderly neighbor who has a Massey 165 gas model, with narrow front and an old Kelly trip bucket loader. The tractor has about 1400 hours and in good shape. No dents but not much paint. He has approached me about buying it but neither of us have any idea of its worth. I want to be fair with him so I am looking for some advice. Thanks.

Perkins gas or Continental? 6-speed, 6 w/ multipower or 8-speed? Narrow front is a bit of a novelty on 165's, won't help price but may not hurt it either. NF means 38" rear rubber, correct? "Standard" (w/28" rears) is preferred model. I've got a Kelly loader. The tractor may sell better without. Still. any working loader is worth a few peso's. That's VERY low hours, but, the tractor is 30 to 40 years old. The calender keeps going even when the hour meter shuts off.

Good diesel standard 6speed w/ multipower will bring as much as $7500 here. Average around $5000. Gas may fetch $6000 in great condition. Average shape, maybe $4500.

The concept of a 52hp gas nf 3-point hitch tractor w/loader seems very usefull.
