I have MF 245, diesel, power steering. Hauled it home, didn't want to start, messed with gear shift safety and it started, left it running to pressure wash, drove around, parked and tried to start again-nothing, I have tried to jump the starter-nothing moves....any ideas?

"messed with gear shift safety and it started," Hummmm, sounds like your neutral safety swich is not making connection, especially after washing. I would pull the two wires off and clean and re-install. Try starting. No luck, then do as Eric said, you probably have a short in the key to solenoid wiring. If it "clicks" then the solenoid needs work. There isn"t too much that can be wrong, keep working on it and let us know what happens. It"s called a "SAFETY" switch for a reason.

Hello Mike,
What do you mean by "I jump the starter but nothing moves" ?
Did you try to make a contact between the big 12V cable on the starter and the small wire on the solenoid just close to it. But be careful of possible sparks, use a pipe spanner to do it.
Starter should run when contact happens.
Let me know to help more.
Eric (France)
