The other day I drove under a low branch from a tree and bent my exhaust pipe. It bent the 180 curve right below the manifold. I straighted up the pipe while it was hot so now it is in the correct position. What is the best way to fix this?
1) Use JB Weld to patch the crack in the 180 curve.
2) Purchase a new 180 curve and replace.
3) Take the manifold, 180 curve, and muffler to a machine shop and say fix it.

Also one other question- Whats the best way to stop leaks in diesel fuel lines where they connect to pumps, or filters? Will teflon tape work?

I've got an old modified trip-loader that fits a 65, frame and all, just sittin'. I'm in MD. Email if interested.

Hi Cliff -

Re fuel leaks - Most of the fuel filter connections have a rubber insert to act as a compression washer. Either Massey (731 563M1), or make them by grinding down the outside of 1/4" neoprene fuel line.

The fittings with copper washers will tighten up with a light butter of teflon or "seal-all".

I cut all the lines and insert a flex joint of 3/16 or 1/4 neoprene. Helps a lot in trying to re-align the ends.

Hope this helps - there are a lot of connections, and you're lucky if only half of them leak when you reassemble!
