I have a 1949 M-H 44 that I am working on and am wanting to put an original style set of headlight on it. It currently has aftermaket lights on it from a farm store. My neighbor has a set of headlights that he believes came off a M-H. I am trying to figure out if they are the style I need before I make him an offer. They are approx. 6 inches in diameter. They have a flatter back to them than the teardrop shaped lights on my farmall. They have a plate riveted to the bottom of them that the mounting bolt goes through. They are sealed beam lights. They have a metal ring that holds the bulb in place with one screw that goes into the body of the light. I can email pictures of the lights if this will help, I did not have any luck posting the pictures to this website. Can anyone identify if this is what I need and maybe an approximate value. I want to be fair on the price.

My 47 Massey 44 has basically the same style but instead of the screw going into the body , it screws the ring together in a clamping fashion. It holds the lens in place covering a seprate 6 volt bulb. Preacher is right about the wire on the back. I forgot to look at the plate on the bottom though.

I'd say you are on the right track in terms or the style. Price,...I;ve seen them sell for $25-100/pair

Just to add, original headlights will also have a terminal screw on the back mounted in a nylon composite block that you attach a ring terminal to. If they have a hole with a wire passing through, they might not be original. Mine actually still had working 6-volt bulbs dated 1953! I kept the bulbs when I did the 12-volt conversion.
