Hi, From reading the postings and a few helpful responses it sounds like I might have to replace the head gasket in my MF65. How intense of a project is this? How many hours should I expect it to take? When going to this effort what other things should I replace/repair? Any idea of how much it would cost to have someone do it? Thanks,

I had my head off in about 2 hours. I am doing several other things while I am down, so I could only guess that it would take about 3 hours to go back togeather. If you are only replacing the head gasket, I wouldn't take the exhaust manifold off the head. I broke off 2 studs in mine. Good Luck! JJ

A compitent agricultural engineer who is familiar with the tractor should handle the job in around 1/2 a day for a straight gasket replacement. Allow extra time for extras like the head being stuck on the studs, valve grinding etc.
