I am not a mech. but thge head cracked on my MF35 diesel, and i'm trying to replace it myself. I bought a manual that was suppose to tell you "how to " work on this tractor.{to me this was a waste of money}. I need to know what to tighten the injector down to when I replace them into the block. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Len

Len:

I believe MF specs 18-20 lbs/ft for these.

Hi,
For a 5/16 unf nut the torque would normally be about 24 lb-ft. I cannot find an exact figure in my manuals but set your torque wrench to 18 lb-ft and then check with reasonable pressure on a spanner. They should be tight, yes, but having them even is more important.

David P. Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try. I knew the pressures had to be even so the injectors weren't cocked , but I didn't know what pressure to start with. Thanks again, Len Eastern Shore of Maryland, USA
