Thanks to all who helped find my problem in my previous post about my 231S not moving. It is the shear coupler that has broken, Big Dean sent me some pictures on how to replace the shear coupler. My next questions is this, how easy is it to remove the lift cover?
I have removed the PTO shift cover but judging from the pictures Dean sent me it looks like it is easyer to access the shaft from the top by removing the lift cover.

Is anything attached to the lift cover on the inside?
Do I just unbolt it and use my engine lift to remove the cover and then after the repair is made just bolt it back on?

Also When I go to get the parts I need does the lift cover use a gasket?

Thanks in advance for the help! this site has already saved me money and time.

David there is nothing attached inside. The liftcover will lift right off after unbolting it. You do have to watch when installing the liftcove that the vertical lever hanging down goes behind the roller in the pump control lever.
