3 point on this tractor hung in up postion. Some internet searching indicates it's probably the value, linkage appears ok. I assume the rear rectangle plate needs to come off, but what then? Anyone have some tips on fixing this.

Something of note on these tractors is that the 3 point tends to get stuck in the up postion. I had to use a loader tractor to push down on the three point to get it to go down on a 2675. This is especially true if the 3 point hasn't been used in a while or the hy-trans oil is cold.

The control valve on the 2705 is easy to get at. Remove the cover on the rear of the top lift housing it has 8 3/8 bolts attaching it. It also is the cover with the hoses going to the lift cylinders. Once you get the cover off you can see the valve and all of the linkage. The valves do hang up once in a while, but it doesn't seem to be a cronic problem.

Tom, thanks for the reply. I feel this may not be the case on this tractor. Whoever had this tractor before had screwed in a small blocker on the position and draft controls, that limited the last inch you could pull the lever up. But that was an important inch, since it give me only about 1/2 the lift I would expect. I took that off, not knowing why they did this, and that"s when I hung it in the up position. If it"s chronic, what is the repair?

There is only one three point lift valve, which is controlled by the various inputs from the draft or position control. It should be fully open, fully closed or in a nuetral position when the lift arms are held stationary. There is an intermix control knob on the left rear of the tractor which changes the relationship of the draft to the position, depending on the height of the hitch on the implement that you are pulling. Regardless, the three point valve is either stuck, the linkage is broken, or not adjusted properly to allow the valve to open, close or hold.
