MF85 Remote Problem

I finally have my MF85 up and running after it has set for several years.
In trying to figure out the hydraulics I cant seem to figure out exactly how they are suppose to work.
Its a standard Hi Arch model.
the problem that i have ran into is that the rear lift does not want to work unless i pull back on the left remote valve. I always thought these remote valves would be left in the neutrel position for just the rear to work.
There are two remote lines going to the rear of the tractor, and if i work the outside remote valve back and forth i can feel the line build pressure which i would think is normal.
Looking down from the top at the two valves the one on the left is the one i have to pull back to get the rear lift to work, if it is all the way forward it makes the rear lift go down, even if the lever on the side is in the up or transport position. When i was a kid my grandfather had a MF 65 and a MF150 and both had twin remotes, but it seems they were always locked out and the rear lift worked fine off of the control on the right. The only time they were used were when we had a front end loader on either if the tractors, so is there something i am missing or did the setup on the 85 just work this way. Sorry for the long post, its just exciting to get this old gal up and running. Thanks in advance.
Greg

MF 85

From the description you posted it appears that the hydraulics are working the way they are supposed to. Since the auxillary valve runs off the same pump as the three point the Hydra-levers for the three point control the actual pump, and the auxillary remotes won't work unless the pump, is trying to lift the hitch. When you pull the left lever back it directs the oil to the three point cylinder and the hydra-levers control the hitch just as if there wase no auxillary valve on the tractor. You should be able to lock the left valve back with a latch or with the detent spring on the valve, depending on which style remote valve you have. The 85 should also have a knurled knob that you can turn in to lock the three point cylinder from getting or returning oil. If put the three point where you wnat it and then turn the knob in the hitch will stay there until you screw the knob out. The 65 operates the same way, however the 65 does not have the hitch lock valve.
