F-40's were produced from early 1956 to mid 1957 when it became the Massey Ferguson 50. Both the Ferguson 40 and the Massey Harris 50 were essentially a Ferguson 35 from the water pump on back with the front end of a 65 grafted to the front. The 40/50's had better power steering, bigger fuel tank, bigger radiator, heavier axle (straight instead of the swept back axle of the 35)with more front end clearance. The different axle gave the 40 about 8" longer wheel base.

F-40's were painted EITHER Flint grey and beige with red lettering or a dark green metallic chassis with the beige sheet metal/red lettering. (I've got one that's dark green)

The 40 became the 50, which went on to become the 150.

Would you happen to know the procedure for pulling the radiator out of my old F40. It's got a terrible leak now which the 'stopleak' fluids are no longer touching. I'd appreciate the info.

I think what you have is a Ferguson 40, not a MHF40 The Ferguson 40 was the same as the MH 50 but painted beige and gray instead of MH red. They were built in 1956-58 when Massey Harris and Ferguson were combining but still had seperate dealers. They have the 4 cyl.,134-ci Continental engine rated at 29 BHP and 24 on the drawbar and the basic weight is 3500#
