Hi ALl,

Just ( finally ) finishing up our 3 cyl Perky rebuild, ( 3 A 152 diesel ) and was wondering if anyone would know the torque specs for the rear main seal housing? I don't want to over tighten it when I install it.

Thabks in advance.

Happy New year.

Will

Hi,
You won't get a socket onto all of the bolts. Those that you can should be tightened to about 20-22 lb-ft. Remember to fit the 12 o'clock and six o'clock bolts when you fit each housing. You won't get 'em in after. Ensure that the seals are fully located with no overlap to jam between the housings. Grip each housing at the lower point gently in a vice and tap the seal in with a hammer HANDLE, not the head.
Happy New Year
