new owner to a MF-165, 3-point doesn't lift with either position or draft control. Unit is equiped with auxilary controls for remote hookup. The control which raises and lowers the 3-point is one of the controls mounted on top of the hydraulic lift cover in front of the seat but behind gear shift levers. Two controls, one which is plumbed to run a rear remote, second not plumbed out of external fittings is the control which raises and lowers the 3-point. Is this normal? I have read that the controls for the remote are an "add on" is this just a trade off for the remote use or have I lost the ability for the draft control? Thanks

On my 135 which uses the tractor hydraulics to run a loader, I have to move the lever over the center to the rear position. Initially all the way back to raise the rear implement. Then it snaps in a rear position and I have control of the rear hydraulics. Hope this helps. I am located in northern lower Michigan near Manistee.

Hello,
If I understand you correctly you have two spring levers mounted on the front of the hydraulic cover. One provides power to rear mounted couplings and the other operates your 3-point lift.
This set up is one stage further than most people go to.
I have a MF 135 with a small bale grab mounted on the rear to pick up two blocks of 8 bales.
Normally it would be necessary to fiddle between a remote lever and the quadrant levers to operate the grab. By plumbing it up in a similar way to yours I can raise and lower the linkage and squeeze by operation of two adjacent levers in the same block. It suggests that your tractor has some similar implement mounted on it. Unless you have an isolating valve incorporated in your lever block to resume normal 3-point lift then you will not have the Draft or Position facility other than by operation of your lever.
Happy New Year from this side of the Pond
