Swinging Drawbar installation on MF40

Guys,

I have a MF40 with a MF34 loader. It has the three point installed, and I use it on the farm. I am interested in installing a swinging drawbar on it like my Dad's 65 and the 35, 65 and 285 I drove in my youth. (it will make it easier to use for baling hay, pulling a disk etc)

I was wondering if the swinging draft hitch for the 245 would fit on the 40? It looks like the center section on the rear axle is the same. If so, the hitch unit should fit. Have any of you completed a similar modification. Also, I would appreciate any advice on who I should get the parts from.

Thank you very much.

Thanks Gary,

I will go by the local tractor surplus yard and see if they have one in stock.

Merlin My MF40 came to me with the swinging drawbar. It is identical to the one on my MF135. You should be able to get one from a MF245 to go on. You should try to find an original hitch as the MF units were more heavily built. You should not have any trouble finding a used one.
