I have a Diesel 4 cyclinder FE35, anyone have any opinion if this is capable of rotavating using a 60" rotavator on a ploughed 1/2 acre, sticky soil. There is an old saying about ' a hp for every inch' and with 35 hp on tap that means forget it!

I run a 60" Howard rotovator on my Diesel 165 in what is really pretty nice soil.

When things get a little heavy and I'm tilling deep the rotovator will digest every bit of the 55 hp available.

With heavy soil, I think the 60" would eat your 35 hp up pretty quick.

i think if you tiulled shallow and went a little deeper on each pass you could do it. still nothing like having enough hp though. but the howard is a heavy duty rotovator. there are cheaper lighter ones ,but i would stick with the howard and do slow or shallow passes . good luck.
