Hi fellas,
I'm shopping for a good loader tractor and had been thinking about going with International. Then the thought hit me that I've never really heard anything "bad" about MF and they seem to make a good solid tractor but I have no experience what ever with MF's.

So here are my questions,..... what size MF would make a good loader tractor capable of handleing a 1200#-1400# bale hanging on the front loader and on the 3 pt.?

Which older models had cabs, and were in the 70-80 HP range? ..... .. and are there any particular models to stay away from?

As with everything else, price is always an issue so a cab is not really an absolute necessity.

Thanks for any info,
Roller

I am considering selling my 30B - we use it here to haul round bales both front and back with the loader and 3 point and pulling the baler and haybine. It has about 40 hours on both front spindles and bearings and clutch and pressure plate. It does have an issue on locking the rear end that I haven't got to yet

A 285 would be a great choice. Very common, 80-85 HP, and can easily handle bales and anything else. A few have cabs but most don't. A 275 would probably be nice too, or a 175-185 etc.

I am selling a 45hp Massey Ferguson 30B with a front loader. The loader is rated with a 5000 pound capacity. I would guess the 3 point can lift about 1500 pounds. Perkins 3 cyl diesel and a real solid working tractor. I recently replaced a broken axel support casting. the tractor has an onboard crankcase heater and PTO.
