Hi Guys.
I've just bought a MH 101 Super fitted with a Chrysler 6 cylinder engine. It's not the original engine but a T 311 engine. Any idea what this engine would have been used in? What is it's HP?
Thanks for your help,
Lyn.

Lyn, The 101 series introduced in 1938. The first
came w/ 201 Chrysler(Dodge truck) engine. This was
the first tractor w/ standard elec starter. In 1939 The 101 Jr. was added and the 101 became 101
Super. Then in 1940 the Super engine was increased
to 217 c.i. In 1942 the Super ended. Later yr 101
Seniors had a Continental as did the Junior. Hope
this helps. Chuck

I believe that the T 311 engine you mention is from a truck probably. The original Chrysler industrial engines in those tractors were smaller in length. Does the front engine mount look non-factory for a tractor hookup? I have a reference here that says the row crop and Standard 101 Supers used the Chrysler T96 and the T 116 engines which were both 217 cubic inches. I don't know the difference between the T96 and the T 116's. Go onto the classic truck forum here at YT and ask about the Chrysler T311 and maybe it's length and specs, etc.
