Howard, I am guessing it is a 55 or 555. On the 55 the serial number is stamped into the casting on top of the transmission housing. If you are sitting on the seat, it would be to the right of your left foot, in front of the tin cover that is under the seat. The other thing to look for is on the right side of the engine block. The engine would be a J382. This would be cast into the block. Hope this helps.

Howard, If the tractor has 5 forward gears, it is a 55. If it has hi and lo ranges with 10 forward gears it is a 555. I think that if you look under the belly below the coupler behind the bell housing you will see a casting date. This should tell you the year. The 55 was made up till 1955.

The number on the housing that might have had the model number is rusted to bad. The number on the block is mja382g. It has rice field tires on it. This tractor runs good. Hope to take it to the pulls soon. Thank you for the help.
