Hello guys,

The hand brake lever of my MF 165 is loose. So it does not stay in high position to block the wheels !
It is dangerous, fortunatly I do not use it on the hill but you never know !
Could you tell what or where to verifie first ?

Thanks for your replies

Hi,
If you have the same type of handbrake as fitted to UK models, it is mounted on two or three bolts at the front of the hydraulic cover. There is a slight bend to the left in the handle. If so, I would suggest that you remove the whole assembly to start. There is a pawl held in the handle part by a clevis pin. Remove the pin and extract the button. rod and pawl through the top end. You will probably see wear on the pawl. Check the ratchet on the bracket and you will probably find wear there as well. The pawl can be built up with weld and filed back. Better if you can get new. The last numbers I have are;
Bracket 899 044 M92
Pawl 892 267 M1

Even if you do not have the UK type, the procedure will be very similar.

I tired to post this reponse yesterday but it wouldn't work:
There you have it! A hand brake on a UK model, no wonder I've never seen one. The only thing we have are on the brake pedal and when worn don't always hold very well. To post a pic, this is how I've done it. Post your pic to "Implement Photos" or another website. Copy the exact address where your pic is and put it in the 'Optional Image U R L' box below the comments block. Worked for me.

Hi, never posted one on the forum before. You could go to Parts and Pieces and follow the link from there.

jicarre, I"ve never seen a "hand" brake on a 165, but that does not mean anything. Do you mean the "Multipower" lever on the dash area? If you search on this page for "Multipower" you should get some good info. Big Dean"s website has some info also, check any message that Big Dean answers for the address. Sorry I can"t help much.
