Was doing a favor for neighbor to change oil and filter on a Massey 33, I cannot get the bolt on top of the canister ( between cover and bolt) to stop leaking. The parts book does not show any gasket in between the bolt and cover, also no way to get one in there. What do I do?

Just a follow-up on the problem, I just but a O-ring under the bolthead, worked fine. Thanks

oem had a soft copper washer. just clean it up and put some RTV around the bolt just under the head that seals them just fine

Hi KC

There are (sometimes) a rubber washer each end of the
old cartridge you may remove one gently with pliers
if not damaged you may use it as bolt washer-seal.

I done that several times in the past and worked well

You should be able to go to a parts store and get a crush washer to fit between the two and tighten it up.
