Just unhooked mower from tractor in metal storage shed yesterday and when I tried to start it again it would not. The low and high gear shifter was not shifting as normally so I cannot be certain it is not the culprit. The tractor had been working for me all day. I started and stopped too many times to count with no problems. Battery seems fine but was not tested for voltage. Lights come on bright. Can anybody please give me some trouble shooting suggestions. Thanks much !

Play with the high and low shifter. Also check that the wires haven't come off on the neutral safety switch. Dave

Dave -- I am sorry but I know little about my dads tractor. I am going to get a manual. However where is this Neutral safety switch. Please describe it and the location it you could. The hi lo gears are now working pretty much as before. Maybe a little stiffer but they do shift. I really appreciate it your assistance and knowledge. Thanks much

It should be on top of the transmission case under the dash. It has two wires and a rubber cover over it. The high low shifter has to be in the "S" start position for the starter to work. That's where the neutral switch comes in. Something could have hit the rubber cover and lossened the conection. Just push it back on. I don't know why it would shift stiffer. Hope this helps. Dave

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Monday we checked everything out on the tractor with the connections. We made sure it was in neutral and it started up just fine and worked just great for me all day. Go figure. Either way its great to have it back working. Thanks a bunch Dave.
