Hi All just managed to get myself a Masey harris Pony Vigneron (vineyard) 1955 gas with a Simca motor.I have a couple of questions if anyone out there knows anything about this model??
firstly can anyone tell me if the electrics are positive or negative earth?at the moment it has the original 6 volt system fitted with a dynamo as opposed to an alternator, secondly the gearshift is real loose and it's possible to swing the lever in an arc for about a foot when its in gear i take it this isnt as it should be and can anyone come up with a possible suggestion as to what may be the problem?
Thanks in anticipation Mick in france.

Six volt system with genny (dynamo) almost certainly was positive ground (earth) originally. I have no direct experience with this tractor but all the ones I have worked with that were six volts with generator were positive ground from factory.

I have a book "Tracteurs Pony" by Jean Cherouvrier and Jean Noulin. On page 74 there is "specifications du 812 vigneron". On page 73 is a write up on the vigneron. Unfortunatley I cannot read or speak French. This book is from France and is a very good Pony book with good color photographs.

If you find this book look on pages 35 and 36 and see my Gray Pony.
