I did a seach on 399, there were some good comments. I'll ask my question anyway to see if there is any new information.

A friend of mine is looking at a MF 399 with cab and 4 wheel drive. Does anyone have any experience with these tractors? What are the pros and cons of these tractors? Is there anything particular in the maintenance area that should be checked? Any helpfull comments would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.
Paul

The 300 series Masseys were the best selling series of tractors ever world wide. They are simple and reliable with very few problems and are a good value. The 390T and 399 are extemely popular as used tractors. I'd give my right arm for a 399 4wd with cab. The only problem I know of was on the early model 399's the engines had some valve train issues. Models with cabs came out after that problem was fixed.

I was reading on another site that they are one of the most sought after tractors in Europe and usually get a premium price. They went back to the styling of the 399 after some newer models had some problems. Dave
