I just upgraded my Massey 85 to a 90 amp alternator so I have plenty of power to run my lights and accessories. I looked at the articles posted on this website as a reference. Since there was not one with my exact wiring diagram I just wanted to make sure nothing I did could backfire later down the road. My amp meter shows a charge of 5-15 amps when running, and when I turn my lights on it jumps to 15-25 amps. Is there anything I need to double check to make sure I do not have anything wired incorrectly? Also, I decided to sell my old charging system with tach drive & cable if anyone is interested check the ads.

The battery cable and power to starter should be on one side and alternator and other stuff on the otherside of the amp meter. This capture power going into and out of the battery but by passes the high current load used by the starter.

I think you have the ammeter wired so its not showing loads. They should be on the same terminal as the alternator. Only the battery should be on the other terminal.
