We run 15w-40 in all of our tractors, including our 165 gas (continental engine) It holds 6 quarts w/ filter. The manual says the deisel (perkins) holds 7 1/2 qt, or 8 1/2 w/ filter.

I think everyone is using the 15w-40. Due to the fed mandating the removal of key antifriction additives in gasoline oils, owners of older gas engines are also making the switch due to the increased failure rate of flat tappets with the new oils.
