Gas or diesel? I"ve owned one of each. The gasser would pull 2X14""s, but did better with 2X12""s in our clay soil. The diesel would pull 2X14""s without any effort whatsoever. Gasser would turn the gas tank inside out while the diesel would go on like the Energizer Bunny on a tankfull.

There are too many variables to list, but why not start with a 2x12 or 2x14 and take it easy on the old girl.

As someone already said, it's basically the same HP as a 35.

With my MF 35, I've pulled a 3-12 plow and a 3-14 plow.

The 3-12 plow is about perfect. I go in first gear in high range in most conditions.

The 3-14 plow was a bit much. I had to run in 3rd gear in low range, and it worked the thing really hard. I wouldn't recommend it.

I saw someone else use a 2-16 plow on a TO-35, and it worked real slick. The wider bottoms turned and covered well.

Larry,Are you talking about a 3 pt. If so I would think it would pull the same as a mf35 or mf135 since is the same engine, trans & rear end. CENTAUR

if I remember, the 50 is somewhat similar to my 135

with no weight in the tires, sandy clay soil plows fine with single bottom, old sod full of rocks barely makes it, problem is wheel spin not power

loaded tires would easily pull 2 bottoms in turned soil but don't think it would work in sod

Larry; Depends on your plowing conditions. 2-14"s or 2-16"s. Might pull 3-14"s. Like I say, depends on soil conditions.

Use would be a mix of sod and corn/bean ground (food plots). The tires are filled. Hoping for 2 16's as they are fairly easy to find.
Thanks.

try the double plow, can always take the back share off if it won"t pull with 2 on

breaking that sod is hard work and clay soil really drags you down

stick with a good used plow you can get parts for, will need points and slides sooner or later

next you need a set of good heavy discs
