One of the only things that doesnt function on my new digger is the backhoe is "stuck" in one position on its left/right mounting slide. Can anyone describe how the unit should move from left to right? and what maybe wrong here? there is a ram involved but i think it maybe only locks the unit in your chosen position? could it be jammed on somehow?
excuse my ignorance it's my 1st venture into a hydrailic machine.

thanks Sandy

Sandy, Is the backhoe a 54S? It should have it's
own number. It say's in the book to loosen the
nuts on the swing cyl support that bolt it to the
frame. Then swing the bucket assy. so it is
parallel to the frame. Set the bucket teeth in the
soil, and using the boom and dipperstick controls,
push or pull the boom assy. across the frame. Be
sure to retighten nuts to 750-850 Ft. lbs.

I will heve a better look for a backhoe number in daylight, is it the 4 bolts you slacken? they look pretty obvious to me now. also what does the verticle heavy ram behind them do?

cheers sandy

Maybe it has a hydraulic swing lock? Just a thought. Dave
