I know someone who has recently purchased an MF-150 with a 4 cylinder gas engine. They were using it in the woods the other day and apparently the engine note changed and she started spitting oil in the exhaust. He shut it down and after it cooled down it started and ran as normal. I'm told it also smokes fairly heavily. I imagine it needs a rebuild from the sounds of things. Any ideas on the problem as well as info on rebuilding the engine? What sort of cost is there in re-doing the engine, any major pitfalls to be ware of? I'm going to go and have a look at it tomorrow so I'll have a better idea then. Many thanks, tractorsam

I believe the 150 gasser used the z145 continental. The complete overhaul kit from here is around $580, the comprehensive is $680. The parts are high quality and the shipping will took 45 hours after I hung up the phone. Shipping was $25. My local shop wanted $1300 dollars to assemble mine, so I went my own route. This is where I am as of this evening. Note my head and pistons have not been returned from the machine shop.

As soon as the head is done and the pins are pressed, I will be in business....
