I have a MF 50 with a continental z134 motor in it. I was wondering if anyone knows what the cold valve adustment is for this motor? Also does anyone know what the head bolts are supposed to be torqued to? Thanks.

Dan, I don't have a Z134 but I do have a Z145 in my 135. As I understand it the heads on these engines are interchangeable (in fact the head on my tractor says Z134) so this information should work. The information is from the Massey Ferguson Service Manual.
Cold settings: Intake .013 Exhaust .015
Head bolt torque: 70-75 ft-lbs.

Thanks alot for your help. Hopefully I'll get the tractor put back together this weekend. About two weeks ago I developed a dead miss. I pulled the valve cover off and saw that the intake valve retainer had broke on the #1cylinder. They only thing that keep the valve from completely dropping was the pin that goes through the top of the valve. Again thanks.

Okay, don't have the manual for the Z134 but I have one for the G176 (MF65). So here goes

Head bolts 75 foot/lbs

Intake, .016

Exhaust, .018

Think yours is similar?
