My MH50 has a serial number of SGM500301, from what I have seen so far, this looks to be a 1955. The man I purchased it from seemed to think it was a 1952 or 1953. Is there any way I can verify this??? Thanks

Hello Frank -

You had an earlier question re PTO not shifting easily; I thought it was the earlier unit which I know from nothing. I think yours is an MHF 50.

You have the two stage clutch, (ser. SGM = Standard clearance, Gas motor, M - two stage clutch).

One of my earlier posts this month covers adjustment instructions which could correct your problem. If you can't find them, let me know and I'll repost them.

Check on the menu at left side of your sreen under serial numbers. It shows your 50 as being a 1956 and was the three hundredth tractor made in that series. I lucked out and found a MF65 that was made the same month I joined the navy in 1958, in the process of restoring it. Actually tho it only needs stripped and painted. and thought I got a good deal at $400.
