Any ideas on a Massey 35 with Perkins 3-152 diesel and water getting in to engine oil? Head has been off - crack and pressure tested - motor runs fine, but a fast leak now -water poured in to radiator goes straight in to sump. Suspect timing cover or liner - are these wet liners? Thanks

I have had several of those engines that the water pump bearing let the shaft get back into the timing cover and wear a hole in the cover that lets the water run right through to the sump I have also saw the wrist pin keeper come out and the wrist pin wore through the cylinder wall.

i agree with sam.. drop the pan.. lay on creeper with a flashlight, and fill radiator.. put pressure tester on radiator and look for a spray in the block.

These engines use dry liners. Also can"t see how it could be anything to do with the timing case/cover. The only thing I can think of is head gasket problems (I"ve been told these engines can be somewhat prone to them) or else fairly major internal damage. If it was mine I would try dropping the sump and having someone fill the rad while you lay underneath and try and spot where it"s leaking from. Good luck and I hope this helps, tractorsam
