I'm wondering what type of power steering fluid to use. I need to change and not sure what to use to replace it. I have a 1992 MF 285 Diesal Tractor

Randy, The 285 was mfg. from 1974-1982. Would you
poss have a 283 made from 1985-1994. Or post s/n
and can give you a year. Chuck

The power steering uses the same oil that is used in the transmission and hydraulics.

I don't think that the 285 was made in the 90's. I believe that they were made in the mid to late 70's. Takes regular hyd just like the transmisson.
