The electrical system on the 1962 model MF-35 diesel tractor I recently purchased was not charging the battery when I bought it. I had the generator over-hauled and purchased a new voltage regulator. When I went to install the new voltage regulator that is made for my tractor, I discovered the one on the tractor was the wrong type. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a wiring diagram that shows how to hook-up the voltage regulator that I have. Can anyone advise. The voltage regulator that I purchased has 4 connections. Three on the side and one on the back of the regulator. The three on the side are labelled F Bat L and the one on the back is unlabelled. It appears the F connector grounds to the metal covering of the regulator and then to the tractor when mounted. The generator has two connections. F which I assume is Field and an unmarked connector. The F connection is smaller than the other.

I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Thank you.

The generator will have either an A or a G by one terminal the wire from it goes to the terminal on the back of the regulator. The wire from the F on the generator goes to the F on the regulator. The terminal on the regulator marked with a B or BAT the wire goes to the ammeter. The terminal L on the regulator goes to the Ignition switch that is where the ignition switch get it's fire from.
